“Never continue in a job you don’t enjoy. If you’re happy in what you’re doing, you’ll like yourself, you’ll have inner peace. And if you have that, along with physical health, you will have had more success than you could possibly have imagined.”
~ Johnny Carson (1925 – 2005)

I strongly believe that “Health is not simply the absence of illness”. In addition to Massage being effective in both acute and chronic injury recovery, I feel it is also essential in the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. I have a strong passion for this healing profession, and try to pass along that knowledge, passion and enthusiasm to my students. Before becoming a Muscular Therapist, I traveled extensively and enjoyed a background in Archaeology; after a serious back injury on ‘a dig’, I received my first massage. Massage, and other therapies, helped me immensely. I returned to school, studying Muscular Therapy, Hot Stone Massage, Reiki and Therapeutic Touch. I continue to learn and evolve in my practice, and am enjoying every minute. My health is important to me so I make sure to see my own Muscular Therapist regularly!

I came to a career in Massage Therapythrough my training in theatre and dance. As an active performer, teacher and choreographer I learned first-hand how the body feels when it is overworked and in a state of dysfunction. Dancers, as well as other athletes are often told to “work through” pain or injury; “The Show Must Go On!” We ignore our pain and write it off as “normal” or “part of the job”; I believed this for almost two decades until her body had had enough. During a particularly intense tech week for a musical production, I had pain in her back that was so intense I couldn’t dance or sing, it hurt to inhale, twist or bend! After receiving massage and other forms of bodywork, I returned to the show and had many successful performances. This experience inspired me to follow a dream I'd had had for a long time, and I immediately signed up for Massage Therapy School.

LMT/OMT, 900 hr/1000 hr (Massage Therapy)
RP (Reiki Practitioner - Usui Tradition)
My love of massage began with my parents asking me to walk on their backs as a child or rub their shoulders when I got too big for standing on them. Their praise of my innate talents nurtured my ideas of the power of healing touch as I grew up. I went to college thinking to take my healing hands to the world as a doctor; I related to how a person’s mental, emotional and spiritual thoughts contributed to their state of health and their choices for health care. A few years later, I found Massage Therapy and knew this was my second chance to fulfill my calling. I came to appreciate first-hand how massage helped my own recovery from stress, overwork and minor issues, as well as management of chronic injuries over the long-term. Getting my Reiki attunement was the next logical step for me to integrate the physical healing aspects of bodywork with healing the energetic body.
Tammi's specialties include Deep Tissue Massage, Muscular Therapy and Relaxation aimed towards the purpose of pain management and alleviation of stress and muscle tension. She is experienced in working with clients with a variety of health concerns ranging from meeting health and wellness goals to chronic pain management and stress reduction
